Developing Nations Funding Application Process for LWC 2024
With now just less than 1 year to the start of LWC 2024, we are pleased to announce that our host, Surf Life Saving Queensland is very generously making available a sum of 6,000 Euro to support the attendance of each national team from the ILS Category C Full Members up to a maximum of 20 teams.
An application process has been set up to run from 1 September 2023 to 17 November 2023. Late applications will not be accepted.
There are some terms and conditions that will apply. The amount of 6,000 Euro is dependent on the nation committing to sending at least 3 competitors, including at least 1 man and 1 woman to participate at LWC 2024 in the National Teams Open Championships.
Applying for this funding is no guarantee that a nation will be successful, nor will it be on a first come, first served basis as it is likely that the number of nations applying will be greater than 20.
A decision on which nations will receive this funding will be made in December at a joint meeting between the ILS and Surf Life Saving Queensland. The successful nations will be notified by 15 December 2023.
Surf Life Saving Queensland will then work closely with each of the funded nations to facilitate their entry into Australia to participate at LWC 2024.
The Developing Nations Incentive Policy document sets out the full criteria for the scheme:
